The Minnesota American Indian Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 Corporation. Membership is open to both American Indian and non-American Indian businesses and individuals.

The MAICC works to achieve entrepreneurial parity for American Indian businesses, non-profits, professionals, and Tribal communities by developing comprehensive asset-centered strategies centered on innovative ideas, alliances and partnerships that embrace technology, entrepreneurship and economic development.

  • Chamber Office: Located in the heart in the Minneapolis Indian Community, this office provides contact information and houses a permanent display for member brochures and promotional materials, and organizes training and networking opportunities. In addition, meeting room rentals are available to members at a discounted rate.
  • Annual Chamber Events: MAICC's Annual Award Dinner and Golf Tournament are premier events bringing members, collaborative and corporate partners, and tribal leaders together to celebrate member accomplishments. These events provide additional sponsorship, marketing visibility and network opportunities for your business.
  • Annual Chamber Business Meeting: Held in the month of January each year for the purpose of electing new directors and transacting any other business authorized by membership.
  • SCORE: Score counselors provide free business counseling to prospective and current business owners the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00am – 12:30pm at the Chamber office.
  • Business Builder Luncheons: MAICC hosts 2-4 annual luncheon events that include workshops, keynote speakers and networking opportunities. Examples of sponsorship: Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, Xcel Energy, General Mills, etc.
  • Business Card Exchanges: Opportunities to connect with business representatives at a quarterly networking event co-sponsored by MAICC members.
  • Monthly Technical Assistance Workshops: The MAICC offers training and network events to bring your business face-to-face with companies and organizations that buy products and services. These workshops provide critical information on how to become a vendor and certification requirements of doing business with organizations. Examples: Ramsey County, City of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Army Corps of Engineers, MnDOT, U of M, etc.
  • Training Opportunities: MAICC members are offered free or discounted training opportunities. Examples: Networking 101, Entrepreneur & Business Plan Development, Training, American Indian Evaluation Institute, GAP/Business Financing, Business Succession Planning, etc.
  • Marketing Opportunities: Member brochures and promotional materials are promoted at tradeshows and exhibitions the MAICC attends. Members are provided a business link on the MAICC website, and additional opportunities for sponsorship and donations at MAICC events, as well as ad space opportunities in the newsletter, web site and Business Directory for increased visibility.
  • Newsletter: All members receive our quarterly newsletter free, which provides highlights on members and chamber activities, showcases members, new member announcements, member donations and sponsorship recognition and community news. The newsletter is available online and is mailed to membership, tribal partners and MAICC business alliance and collaborative partners statewide. Additional ad space is available to members at various ad size rates.
  • Web Site: Opportunities available for your business to shine. Highlight your business in the online Business Directory. The web site features informative articles, research publications and links to up-to-date business tools and resources. Additional ad space is available to members at various ad size rates.
  • Business Directory: As a business member your business is listed free of charge in MAICC's Annual Business Directory. The Business Directory is available online, and is mailed to membership, tribal partners and MAICC business alliance and collaborative partners statewide. Additional ad space is available to members at various ad size rates.
  • The Hot Sheet: MAICC's weekly e-communiqué tool sent out to members. The Hot Sheet includes community information, legislative updates, upcoming workshops and tradeshows pertinent to business and business referrals.
  • The Bid Sheet: MAICC's bi-weekly e-communiqué tool sent out to contracting/construction members and upon request. The Bid Sheet includes up-to-date private, public, local, State and Federal construction bids.
  • Business Connections & Referrals: For local community, visitor, business and membership inquiries looking for your products and services. MAICC has developed a Partnership Referral Network for membership needing services and resources. Partnership Referral Network includes: UIDA Business Services, MEDA, MMSDC, PTAC, SBA, NDC, CDFI's, CDC's, Financial Institutions and Business and Economic Development Centers, etc.
  • Community Connections: MAICC maintains a Community Events calendar on our website featuring cultural and community events locally, regionally and statewide.

    MAICC is active in the community and participates as a fiscal agent for the following programs: American Indian Graduation Fund, American Indian Revitalization Program and the Metropolitan Urban Indian Directors.

    MAICC chamber staff and board members are asked to make presentations at workshops and conferences, as well serving on various boards and committees where they can increase the knowledge and promote the American Indian Business Community.
  • Developing Member Benefits: MAICC is in the process of negotiating and developing a suite of discounted business services for members, and is researching member Medical, Dental and Vision benefits at a group discount.
